ood lyricists are are usually individuals who possess excellent all-around writing ability. Such is the case with Vikki Lee.
Since you have already listened to Vikki's music,  you now certainly appreciate her skills at writing wonderful song lyrics.
Vikki is also the author of a number of illustrated childrens'stories,  as well as some educational video scripts.
And like so many other talented songwriter/writers.....Vikki also writes poetry.
However, Sticky Vikki has never really liked
poetry......and because of this, she prefers not to call her poems..........."poetry".
Instead, she refers to these compositions as....."just some things I write down."
We are pleased to invite you to read some of these things Vikki has......."written down."
We hope you enjoy them!
I DREAMED I SAW MY MOTHER
I dreamed I saw my mother
in a white embroided dress.
She held me close and kissed each tear
that spilled upon her breast.
"I've seen what lies behind me,
and I'm fearful now," I said,
"For all the early mornings
and the emptiness ahead."
"Time is but a faithful bandit,
leaning on your soul.
To know the way ahead
is simply stated 'letting go.'
All those weary yesterdays
were once tomorrows too.
Now they stand behind you,
in that you'll find the truth.
For every moment passes,
and becomes a memory,
Of one more minute you've survived
none for the worse!" said she.
ANGELS OF THE THINGS THAT BE
Angels of the things that be,
Hear what I'm asking please.
Don't make promises of days beyond,
Just fix what's wrong here on the ground.
EACH TEAR IS JUST A KISS
Each tear is just a kiss,
From your eyes down to your lips.
So let each and every fall.
Don't be morose at all!
They are a gift to you,
Cleansing through and through,
All the somber shades of blue,
'Cause that's what teardrops do!
MY UNCLE CAME DOWN FROM TANQUERAY
My uncle came down from Tanqueray.
He brought us synthetic ivory.
I did not mind his bribery,
But I hated the way he looked at me.
He whistled a lonesome country tune,
Carrying a genuine brass spittoon.
He told us about his opal mines,
While sipping a wine made from dandelions.
The sapphires and diamonds
we saw in his eyes,
Embellished the drapery of his bold lies.
I would not share my whole summer with him,
Stinking of moth balls, tobacco, and gin.
